Very much so. New technology lets doctors measure things like what does of radiation a patient has received, and they can better locate where tumours are and how to treat them. There is new technology being developed all the time, and each step forward helps to treat patients

Yes, it can help with diagnosing diseases and also with treating them, and with making the medicines that are used to treat other diseases. Then there’s all the technology in the hospital: even the ovens that your hospital food is cooked in are technology: I bet you wouldn’t like it if they had to prepare food for all the hospital patients on open fires! Healthcare is actually a pretty major consumer of technology.

Of course. Technology is hugely important in the treatment and management of patients. it can help identify problem so the doctor knows how to treat the patient. Science and technology has helped change the way in which healthcare is delivered. Technology allows us to identify things more easily and allows results to be processed quicker so a person can find out what is wrong with them in a much speedier time frame than it used to be. Without the advancements in technology I wouldn’t be able to do the job I am in.

Absolutely! From everything from diagnosis (x-rays, scans, blood tests, access to research/expertise across the world online) to treatments (lasers, drugs, radiotherapy) and then monitoring health. Our diagnosis and treatment of disease continues to improve, though access to the technology it is not fairly distributed across the planet…
