Ringworm is a fungal infection, and isn’t actually a worm at all. It can be passed on by human contact, but it usually isn’t serious and can be easily cured. Paul has explained this well. I once got this when I was a child- it is really itchy but it clears up quite quickly with some special anti-fungal cream the Dr gave me.
