• Question: how much do you get paid compared to someone that works in a supermarket?

      Well it seems some supermarkets pay their workers very well these days but I would may be say we get a little more but then it depends on the amount of hours you work etc.

      More than the guy stacking the shelves, but less than the national boss of Tesco 😉

      Really depends on the hours you put in (both in the supermarket and in research), but I’d say probably a little bit more now

      Assuming the supermarket job is minimum wage (probably not for managers or experienced staff) then 37.5 hrs/week at £6.70 (age 21+) is ~£13,000 per year.
      I earn more than this and I work part-time (50%). I think the time and effort I invested when studying was well worth it. I love my job and would probably not love a minimum wage supermarket job.
      However someone who starts stacking shelves and has the right skills and attitude could become store manager or higher!
