Usually the most hazardous things I work with is lasers, so we will always wear safety goggles that are designed to block out the laser. We also avoid things like pointing lasers in your eye (which you should never, ever do!) and generally being quite concious of our safety. If we are working with powerful lasers, will have an interlock on the door, which means you need a code to open the door when the laser is on, or if someone accidentally opens it the laser turns off.
