• Question: In your typical day you will normally be designing equipment what do you enjoy about that ?

      Hi Charl_020304,
      What do enjoy about doing design work? Well for one thing, I enjoy the technical challenge. I always used to like puzzle-type games as I enjoyed solving them, and I enjoy the challenge of making something work. I don’t want to do something completely routine for the rest of my life, so design keeps my brain active.

      I also enjoy being creative: I get to make something and I get to decide what it’s like, what it does and how it works. Like writing a song or painting a picture, designing a product means putting some of you into the thing you create.

      Finally, I enjoy creating devices that will solve a real problem that people have. If I can design something that makes the world a better place, that’s a very satisfying thing to do.
