Being able to work with patients- I find this hugely enjoyable and rewarding. Everyone is different and with exciting/interesting stories to tell.

I think the freedom to pursue what I am interested in. I get a lot of opportunity to direct my own research and it means I’ll always be doing something I’m really interested in

I love being able to do interesting work, and to work on something new, which nobody has seen before. Like Paul, I also get a lot of freedom to work on what I’m interested in, which is also really good.

I like the variety. I like my colleagues (most of them anyway). I like that I can’t really take it home). I like that it’s really flexible (in my favour and in theirs). I like that I can bike there. I like that I can make a cup of tea when I need one. I like that I could ask to change my hours/type of work etc. if I wanted something a bit different.

Being able to play with lots of cool equipment. We have 3 MRI scanners in our centre and other cool stuff like lasers and liquid helium. I enjoy learning about the brain the most.
