      To get in to the Engineering course at university that I did, I needed at least 4 B’s at higher (Scottish A levels) Including at least maths and physics. I ended up getting 2 A’s and 2 B’s and that was more than enough to get in, but obviously things like your personal statement matter too. If there is a particular course you are interested in, it is always a good idea to try and attend an open day and meet some of the staff to see if it’s the kind of place you’d like to study at.

      I got a 1st class honours degree from university, and with that I was able to be accepted on to a PhD programme ( I think you can get in to a PhD with less if you are the right kind of person though). It’s not just qualifications though, things like work experience and any other extra curricular activities will help set you apart from other people and help you to get where you want to go.
